A THOUSAND NATURAL SHOCKS
premiere: July 2 & 30, 2012; Z Space, San Francisco
An hour-long work of dance and spoken text created in collaboration with writer Kat Howard, A Thousand Natural Shocks explores life, death, and the stories we are and tell in between.
A Thousand Natural Shocks was selected to be part of the 2012 Summer Dance Series presented by the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, a program launched in 2010 to present performances by choreographers and dance companies who are making interesting and groundbreaking work.
TAKE A LOOK:
"A primal, animalistic sensibility to A Thousand Natural Shocks gives the work a dangerous, edgy and off-kilter tilt... Yet amid the violent athleticism, the generous, intelligent dancers manage to give each tiny quiver and shiver its own sublime moment... an astonishingly mature work by emerging artists, diverse yet cohesive, witty and whimsical."
