Sharp & Fine’s Co-Directors, Megan & Shannon Kurashige, are choreographing a new production of Stephen Sondheim’s Pacific Overtures directed by Nick Ishimaru with music direction by Diana Lee and cultural consultancy by Kirk Kanesaka. Pacific Overtures mixes elements of Kabuki theater with the conventions of Broadway musicals to create an inventive, powerful, and surprisingly humorous theatrical experience about the opening of Japan to the west. Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Book by John Weidman.
